Fall Class Subjects & Upcoming Target Training

By admin · Comments (0)
Friday, September 3rd, 2010

You may remember me talking about switching back to the calendar key format for the new schedule.  For your convenience, I have attached a copy of it along with the September schedule of events (ammended).  For those of you who are not familiar with the Calendar Key concept, it is designed to better prepare each member with a class focus for the day.  The Key subjects are A = Forms, B = Basics, C = Self Defense and D = Weapons.  Not all subjects pertain to every level.  The main instructor will select the class focus under such circumstances.  The numbers you will see above the letters correlate to the dates of the month.  For example, underneath the #1 is the letter B – this means that on the first of every month Basics will be the main focus of all classes.  Again, this will give each student and instructor a guide to better prepare students for individual curriculums.

Lastly, please make note that on the 29th of September there is a Target Training Seminar – NOT a Board Breaking Seminar.  The time for the seminar is from 6pm – 7pm and there is a $30/family seminar fee.  This is an excellent time for students and parents to learn how to better help hold targets for home training.  Additional targets can be purchased on that day for $15 each.  There is also breaking class that day, NOT during the seminar.  Breaking times will from 4:45 – 5:45pm and 7:15pm – 8:15pm.  Remember breaking classes are reserved for Yellow Belts and above – class fee of $10 is required (BBC members $8).

Please let me know if you have any further questions or need additional verification.

Sincerely,

Mr. Ash

Labor Day Weekend & Upcoming Events

By admin · Comments (0)
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

1. This weekend, September 4 – 6 (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) the school will be closed for Labor Day.  No open classes or practice times will be held.

2. I am excited to announce another level of membership services. Each month I will send out an e-mail with a theme or key phrase to be the focal point for the student body.  Staff members will include “Mat Chats” at various times of the month to discuss and highlight various aspects of the chosen topic.  It is my hope that these topics will promote thought as well as further motivate each member.  As you start to receive them and discuss them in classes, I would be interested in your feedback.  As always it is my intent to enhance your overall experience as a martial artist and person – any input is welcome.

This Month’s theme is:

“WORK”

Think about this over the weekend

Famous Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle once said

“Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.”

3.  Next Friday September 10, Team BAEPLEX is launching its’ long awaited Fall/Winter Sport TKD League. With so many families asking how they can get involved with Team BAEPLEX, I decided to make an entry level program – The Sport TKD League.  Team BAEPLEX is a sport specific program geared toward the development of Sport TKD athletes.  This division of Team BAEPLEX is open to ALL levels ages 6 and up.  Become a part of Team BAEPLEX at the most basic level with League practices one day a week – Friday 5:30pm – 6:30pm.  There will be one 12 week session in the Fall/Winter of 2010 from 9/10 – 12/3 (skipping Thanksgiving Weekend).  Fees for the program include a one-time Team registration fee of $50 (includes the official Team BAEPLEX T-Shirt) and $120 fee for the 12 week session.  Sessions will resume again in January 2011 and continue throughout the year. This does not have to be a continuous commitment, so you may start and stop as you need.  No additional registration cost for 2011 if you are registered in 2010. See staff for more details.

4. 2010-11 Afterschool pick-up will start the second week of school (September 13). Space and Schools are limited and special programs are required.

Feel free to e-mail for any further info and as always, Thanks for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Master Ash

5 Friendly Tips – Getting back into the swing of school/afterschool activities

By admin · Comments (0)
Monday, August 30th, 2010

Greetings everyone!  I hope your summer is ending on a good note and has been full of wonderful memories.  I have missed seeing a few of you due to trips, but I am looking forward to your return this fall.  In light of school and scheduling. I wanted to provide you with few tips and updates.

5 Friendly Tips for getting back into the swing of school/afterschool activities:

1.     Map out your schedules.  Be disciplined, but flexible when necessary.

2.     Make sure to budget sleep time.  Proper rest for children and parents will allow for a better tomorrow.

3.     Provide consistency.  Even though we have work, school, homework, afterschool activities and house chores, we ALL need to have a consistent outlet for expending built up energy.  This helps provide a clearer mind for the next activity.

4.     Provide encouragement for your child and/or spouse.  We ALL are experiencing changes, developing different challenges and will experience different mental states.

5.     BE PATIENT!

A few school scheduling reminders

  • This weekend, September 4 – 6 the school will be closed for Labor Day.  No open classes or practice times will be held.
  • The Fall Schedule starts on Tuesday, September 7.  Feel free to pick up a copy at the school or have it e-mailed to you.
  • The 303rd Promotional Test will be held Saturday, September 18.  Please check with one of the Instructors, if testing is a question for you.  Testing times are on the back of your schedules.
  • Don’t forget to keep Mitchell in mind as he tries out for the US Jr. National Team next weekend.

Feel free to e-mail for any further info and as always, Thanks for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Master Ash
